Antler Chandeliers For various Room Styles
Everyone is able to picture an antler chandelier hanging from a great wooden timber ridge beam of a log home. The stone fireplace using the flames snapping, the country handmade hickory rocker somewhere and the leather love seat on the other invites anyone to melt into the cushions with a decent book. But there are more places that antler chandeliers will also be very fitting.
Many chandeliers include shades or shades could be added to the candelabra bulbs. In a single photo I discovered, one of these simple fixtures was quite naturally put into a Belgium kitchen. The antler chosen for that hub of the light was a large deer antler lying down horizontally. Then three candelabra lighting fixtures were affixed to the antler. Sitting on top of the bulbs were checkered mini lamp shades that matched the red checkered table cloth and wall paper border. What a neat idea.
Another unique placement for an antler chandelier is on the porch or deck. If a person could be located for outdoor usage, it would be really neat to see it illuminating some other space. For any glass enclosed porch, where water is not a danger, a deer chandeliers could hang quite comfortably. Smaller units with only a two or three antlers intertwined with flat bases to attach wax candle to would work for interior or exterior use. Wax candle can be stout and short, or tall and tapered. Originally candle chandeliers specified for with wax candles affixed to wood or metal frames.
The final place which comes in my opinion, as I mentally walk through a few of the custom homes we have built, is the den area. A den, very masculine and without frills, will be the perfect spot to suspend a simple light, but one with much presence. The antler theme could be continued by using some animal mounts as an elk or mule deer buck, rustic wall sconce, or lamb bases constructed from animal horns. Just a quick look via a Cabela's magazine or a search through Amazon's lighting selections can provide many ideas that would correspond with the natural.
You shouldn't be afraid to apply your imagination whenever you decorate your home. Some of the best ideas originate when 'normal' is thrown to the wind and a person starts to explore what they like. Good taste is definitely evident when a light fixture for example an antler chandelier is chosen to help add a new look to any room.
